Prof. Dr. Vannajan Sanghiran Lee is a quantum technology strategist and scientific entrepreneur advancing next-generation solutions in healthcare, sustainable materials, and AI-driven molecular engineering. She holds a BSc in Chemistry from Chiang Mai University and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Physical Chemistry from University of Missouri–Kansas City, supported by the Institute of Promotion and Development of Science and Technology (IPST). Her expertise integrates Quantum Mechanics (QM), Molecular Dynamics (MD), and advanced computational modeling to accelerate high-value innovation pipelines.

Professor Lee is the Founder of MolDesign and Qubios Sdn. Bhd., platforms that combine quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and biomolecular simulation to reduce R&D timelines, de-risk drug discovery, and enable precision medicine strategies. Her translational approach bridges deep science with commercialization pathways, creating scalable technology frameworks aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Recognized internationally, she received the 2023 UNESCO Woman of Influence in Science & Technology Award and was named among the Quantum 100 in 2025 by the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) in partnership with UNESCO. At Universiti Malaya, she serves as Deputy Head of the Center of Excellence for Quantum Information Science and Technology (CoE QIST), where she contributes to shaping Malaysia’s national quantum agenda under Malaysia Quantum Initiatives (MyQI). She also serves on the steering committee of the American Chemical Society Malaysia Chapter, strengthening international scientific and innovation networks.

Her leadership model integrates research excellence, policy alignment, industry collaboration, and talent development, positioning quantum-enabled technologies as strategic assets for economic growth, healthcare resilience, and sustainable industrial transformation.
