Oran Levy
- Sr. Research Assistance
- The University of Queensland
Oran Levy is a Sr. Research Assistant at The University of Queensland. His work focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of organic perovskite materials and their practical implementation in solar cell, photodetector and organic laser devices. This work is done in collaboration with researchers at CSIRO Clayton.
Oran obtained a Bachelors of Science in materials science from Flinders University. His honours research focussed on the synthesis and in situ analysis of monolayer metal-organic frameworks for low-energy electronics. Through continued research at Flinders, he gained expertise in surface-science specific synthesis and characterisation techniques including physical vapour deposition, angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, and scanning tunneling microscopy both in home lab and synchrotron beamline contexts.
Research Interests
- Precision material synthesis and analysis, electronic and morphological measurement and manipulation down to atomic scales.
- Organic and metal-organic electronics, incorporating organic building blocks to enhance applications of photo-electronic materials and devices.
- Photon-electron interactions, Analysis of photoemission and absorption mechanisms in novel materials.
